Museum Work and Exhibits
Since 2018 I've been actively involved with the Museum at Keewaydin (East Benton County Historical Society and Museum). I have been actively involved in establishing their Benton Theater inside, and pioneering the Escape The Museum concept which has been very successful. I've also created numerous exhibits for the venue to drive traffic and broaden their visitor base.
I started first as a photo archivist working to organize and digitize their photo archives so that they could be more easily found and accessed digitally.
Once complete, I moved to their vinyl record collection, finding a website Discogs that would allow for their inventory to be processed and viewed online.
I also helped revamp The Courier newsletter to a more reader friendly magazine style format.
Then we looked to build traffic to the museum through events, lectures and exhibits. This included the Junk in the Trunk Saturday Pop-Up Vendor Market, Pop-Up Outreach called the "History Hang-Out" at various coffee shops at venues such as Farmer's Markets and more.
With COVID-19 we were very limited in our efforts. I designed the Escape the Museum concept as a way for the six people we were allowed to have in the museum at once to interact in a time-sensitive way at a higher price point. It was so popular it was expanded and there are now four operational Escape the Museum boxes at the museum with more to come!

I have always drawn, but it was a lifeline for me during the months of COVID19 lockdown. It was a great way to escape and meditate. I've drawn birds, wildlife, people and other elements in pen and watercolor. I currently am featured at Bristle While You Work Art Gallery and teach a quick sketching class called Anyone Can Sketch that encourages people to draw.
